Hey.....I was going to just leave this alone, then I was going to go into all sorts of detail but I have decided that I just want all of you that bought motorcycles from me that I did not voluntarily sell Sherco to RYP and abandon you. It was taken away from me by Sherco and given to them and RYP bought my assets and a blue sky payment that was 2.5% of another offer that I had on the table at the time. Yes .97.5% less than another offer.
The reason I have stayed on here for the last few months is because I wanted to help you all as much as I could during the change over period.
I told you all that I was going to build a brand here but I lucked into a contact with Jotagas just as they were about to start a new enduro line. I'll explain on the JTG forum how that all worked out.
I'm going to lock this thread so it doesn't get into a long negative thing.  That wasn't my point for posting this. The reasons I posted this is that I wanted you to know what really happened with me and Sherco. (BTW.....I was told last week that RYP got the Scorpa line the same way 10 years ago.  Sherco took Scorpa away from the original importer and gave it to RYP.)  Now it is my plan to be done with Sherco and the Sherco forum. Right now my email address is still the clay@shercooffroad.com address but it will soon change to clay@jotagasoffroad.com. You are all welcome to contact me at any time. My phone number will remain 615-347-6519.
Thank you all for your kind words and support over the past few years. I had a lot of fun talking to you guys here!  ;)

That bike is a 4t prototype model they had a while back. I rode a 300 2t pre-production model. No pics available of a production model yet. They were literally getting in parts for the first 500 bikes while I was there this week. I plan to sell these bikes directly to customers and not thru dealers and I expect to be at least $1500 less than a KTM, Husky or Sherco. As a matter of fact the JTG prices will be closer to a Yamaha YZ250X than it will be to other Euro bikes and so will parts. I don't need 9 people to help me run this business and I don't plan to spend $350k a year on pro racers so my prices will be better than these other guys.

Didn't know Jotagas made Enduro bikes ?

Sorry all for the late reply. I've been in Europe since last Friday and just got to a place where I could sit down and reply to you all.
Eagle....Just now they are getting in the parts in to build the first 500 units. I rode a pre-production model for two days.
I'm not going to talk about the bike here. We of course have started a new forum called, strangely enough Jotagas Forum.  www.jotagasforum.com  I hope all of my friend here will follow me over there.
I have one more post to make and then I'm going to leave the Sherco forum to whoever wants to take the time to do anything with it.
One thing though.....when the US dollar gets stronger prices of Euro products should go down and not up. And the dollar is 2 cents stronger now than it was when I turned over Sherco so that ain't the reason prices went up.

New price $7000. Brand new. Never started.

Does it run much better after up upgraded map?

Thanks
Not really. It just doesn't foul plugs on start up. They run fine with the old map and coil if it doesn't foul the plug.

Thank you very much Clay!

Are you aware if anything will show in the OBD codes? I'll do that check today.
Honestly I never checked the codes. I knew what the issue was and what we needed to do so I just did it. I've probably remapped 20 bikes and sent out computers to remap dozens more.

One of the reasons I stayed with Sherco was the service from Clay, along with the parts pricing and shipping. Take those away, and you're left with a great bike with very few aftermarket parts and very pricey oem parts

Yep part of my selling point to friends and strangers were that parts were easy to get *still true, and were comparable to KTM *not true, not even close anymore honestly.
As the brand gets ready to get bigger in the US and Globally *hopefully.. I understand were gonna lose some of that Southern Touch and hospitality that Clay brought to the brand and I know great things dont last for ever BUT these latest changes aint gonna keep those that supported and helped grow the brand here domestically. Some changes im willing to deal with but a  50% price increase on parts in some instances leaves a very salty taste in my mouth. Bad enough they try to monopolize the plastics market as well as the exhausts at one point in time.
I think you meant bitter taste, not salty.

Sherco had a plug fouling problem with the 2019 two strokes. You need the new map and a new coil from the 2020 model.

I wanted to buy the 2019 factory grips from Clay and he said I could get them, they came with a new bike.  Parts have always been expensive  ;D
What I told you was yes I have the grips and they're $9000 but they come with a new bike! I thought that was a hell of a deal!  (I'm glad some of you get my sense of humor!)

The torque settings are usually engraved on the camps is you look 14 nm lower 17 nm top I think

Thanks for the info! I had no idea. And apparently my dealer has no clue.  ::)
New Shercos come with witness marks on the major nuts and bolts in the form of white paint. It washes off after a few hits with a pressure washer. When I get a new bike I like to take a punch and make a small indent where the witness marks are so that I have a permanent reference.

Have you guys actually checked the genuine price or are you going of the old friend of a friend told me thing???
Full set of genuine spare plastics in Australia is about $350 of our worthless $$ same shape plastics as the 2020.
The sticker kit is the expensive bit.
Front or rear fenders are $50ec, a few side panels and the headlamp surround = job done.
NTXoffroad is a Sherco dealer so he orders parts from the current distributor and he knows what the parts cost. I'm getting my info from dealers and customers that I am friends with who call me in shock to ask what the hell?
