News / Re: CMI Canada is the new Sherco distributor in Canada

I had a 16 300SER and would love to buy another one but the lack of support in Canada is embarrassing.    My dealer got sick of the Rep never returning calls or emails along with the lack of parts inventory and just packed it in as a dealer.

Too bad.   I think they are a great bike.   Pretty sad when most Sherco owners would love to have Billyard back at the helm compared to the current Dist.

I am suspecting BNGs due to The Vid.   MY21 will probably be late this year as mentioned although Beta made the decision to cancel all further MY20 production and just jump right to MY21 once the line starts back up.

Here is an interesting twist to the plot.   I predicted that Stu wouldnt finish the year on the Sherco but I am a bit surprised he is out so soon.

I want to know what they did to their swingarms. lengthen or swap something on form an OB...?

I dont think they have done anything.   I do know that they have asked for a longer swingarm but the factory hasnt seen the need for one.

Rumor out there that the money guy from Texas has taken the business from RYP.

Sounds like Guy Giroux and Josh Barrett are going to be running the CDN Operations moving forward.   These are the same guys that went bankrupt back in 2012 when BMG was the CDN Husqvarna Distributor and screwed over a ton of guys (including me for $30K).  My local dealer has already packed it in after finding out who the new Dist is going to be.

Yeah.   Giroux is a fun guy and all but he basically turned his job as a Rep into one last chance to become a Factory Racer.   Taking weeks to return calls/emails to dealers, stocking no parts and basically doing nothing to promote the brand outside of Quebec has turned most Sherco fans off the brand.

Rumour has it that CMI is packing it in with Sherco and that a new Dist will be announced shortly.   My guess is that RYP is taking over North America.

I did sign up but unfortunately what I thought I used for a name and password were wrong.
So in the “Forgot password” I ended up with some thing like a 75 letter/number password in which I typed wrong again. Maybe it’s not meant to be...👎🏻
Good Luck!

Fun fact.  There is thing called copy/paste that you can use on those long temporary passwords.    You can change it later.

Parts prices in Canada have skyrocketed as well.   Not sure if it is importer greed or whether the factory has jacked the prices way up?

I did the RideXpower tour 3 years ago 2 weeks before Romaniacs and we rode a lot of the bronze and silver course.    I was the weakest rider in my group and it was tough.   The rest of the guys I was with were legit AA riders in their day and they found it tough as well.   Generally the tour guides base the trip on the ability of the riders and told me to suck it up as the rest of the guys were way better than me.   I came home a better rider for sure.
That sounds like a precarious situation... No doubt it made you a better rider, but could also put you over your head and on your head

It wasnt that bad.   The ride was really tough though.   I wasnt in fear for my life or anything.   I just pushed more than the other guys had to.   I did bribe the tour guide with booze to ride my bike up 1 particularly nasty hill though.   :)
