General Discussion / Re: Steering damper?
« on: June 12, 2020, 06:22:26 PM »
I ran steering dampers for many seasons when I raced hare scrambles. I donít run them now as I donít race. I think of them more like safety items than anti fatigue item, and I donít think it ever made any difference there. When youíre trying to ride hard on faster 3rd gear and up nasty washes, loose, boulders, roots it helps especially later in the race. Now just trail riding I just go slower haha.

I do second moving the forks in the clamps. The difference between the lines is pretty pronounced.

Just testing the waters here. Bike has 36.54 hours. Trail rode, never raced. Not AA rider owned, the AA plates are from a spare plastic kit from another rider I purchased from on this forum. Has XPLOR forks with the K-Tech ORVS kit, works extremely well, a huge improvement over the stock system. The rear shock has also been revalved with the K Tech bladder kit. Great suspension, super adjustable from trail riding to race pace. Bolt- ons include:

Bulletproof rad guards, rear disc guard, and swing arm guard.
Polisport swingarm protectors and ignition/clutch covers.
Linkage guard added to stock skid plate (not mounted in pic)
EE handguards
Trail Tech Fan Kit
TM Designs Chain Guide
Guts Racing Tall Seat Kit (have stock setup)
High Pressure 2.0 radiator cap

Oil and filter changed per manual, air filter always kept fresh.

Can provide more pics. Would consider trade for low hour, similar year 2 stroke. 413-519-2431. Bike is located in Massachusetts.

You need to replace the seals. Pretty quick job.

Hey there, I have a 2018 300 SEF-R, and just fitted a trail tech fan. So far it's been really helpful, from everything I've read and friends that have fans on their orange bikes, 180 -190F is about the range that their fans all come on too. Mine is set at 185F. I can get it up there fairly easy grinding gnarly singletrack here in Western Mass.

General Discussion / Re: Polisort covers: fitment on 2015 300 SEF

I run the polisport cover on my 18 300 SEF. I have the stock brake lever and havenít noticed any issues. It doesnít have any markings on it, and if I donít take the polisport cover off itís really tough to get the lever off/out.

Thanks for the update, good to know and glad to see the aftermarket starting to percolate

RYP just responded to me stating that RYP/Sherco USA is still the importer/distributor. Saw that Stu Baylor left, but Grant is still in.

Ughhh...this is all Covid related downsizing? Really tough timing, sucks they went all in and then were hit with this.

Wayne Dickert is still posting Sherco life all over Instagram as of yesterday , and I ordered parts from Motocenter that drop shipped from RYP in KY to be here tomorrow. Fake news?

80 hours is a long time if youíre ringing out a 125! You might be surprised how much power comes back.

Have you done a top end?

Sherco Tech / Re: New FMF systems for 300 4T - Anyone tried them?
« on: April 05, 2020, 06:36:25 AM »
I thought the exhaust on a friends OB 250 4t was a nice boost, but definitely did get a bit louder. I think youíre right the akropovic seems perfect, but Iíve got the racing model so the standard exhaust. Iíd love to get an akro, but they are insanely expensive!

General Discussion / Re: anyone still shipping parts?

MotoCenter AZ is still open, shipping parts and they are awesome! Neil in their parts department is super helpful, responsive and their delivery is lightning fast. They're in Arizona and I had my order to me in two days in Massachusetts.
