General Discussion / Re: What's going on??
« on: September 16, 2020, 07:43:14 AM »
Forums ,as a general rule, are dangerous for manufacturers and reps to get involved with.
Have you ever heard of Honda or Yamaha reps on a forum?
Forums are also dying a slow death while the Facebook Sherco groups are getting huge over the last year.

As a dealer, Im not seeing the expensive prices and availability issue that I see comments about online.
Prices and availability are able to be checked online, instantly. Sounds like dealer issues to me.

More and more parts are becoming available. ProX has piston kits available now and gasket kits will be coming in a few months.

why I will probably be going Lectron (external PowerJet/Main to adjust and a metering rod)....
Sherco is a less than desirable bike to be monkey'in around doing finicky Carb adjustments.
seriously, is it necessary to detach the silencer and subframe everytime just to access the bottom of a frickin carb (pilot and main)?

love the bike and the way it rides BUT.....there is the price to pay for a very compact engine compartment.

Man you are doing it the hardest way possible  :o

I will measure tomorrow and do some playing around. With a steering stabilizer or bar risers, the cable is super tight.
I will send some pictures and my recommendation to the email you provided.
Is there anything I can do to help the process as far as supplying a cable or anything?
Im a dealer in Idaho.

How about a longer than stock cable? The 18 up 2ts are in desperate need of a longer cable.

The only ratio change, the gears and secondary shaft were lightened.
Numerically higher, lower ratio. I haven't heard the actual number yet.

New Athena ignition for capacitive discharge instead of inductive.
Weight loss in the gearbox, shift drum, and clutch gear. 2.7 pounds total loss.
Head has the mario setup now. Little bit less compression.
First gear is lower, not taller.

General Discussion / Re: what long lasting mousses can you recommend?

Totally different feel hitting square rocks and roots. Doesnt bounce the same, kinda thuds into them and keeps going.
Its hard to describe now that Im trying to type it. Instead of a harsh hit and then a rebound, it just thuds and rolls.
My last mousse started to fall apart in the middle of a ride. It wasnt until then did I realize how hard I was hitting rocks and not even thinking about it.

If you ride rocks and roots fast, the mousse is an incredible performance advantage. I dont run one cause im scared of flats, I run one cause it flat works better.
If you like rocks, you owe it to yourself to try one.

Five times the cost of a good tube that I would replace with tire changes. Plus I dont carry tire tools anymore and the piece of mind is valuable.
Thats not even figuring in how much better they work on rocks and roots. Ill never go back.

I change fronts around 30-40 hours of hard enduro.
I just changed out a mousse and it looks like I had about 1300 miles on it.

The Michelin blue box ones are much better than the original Michelins. I get about three tires out of them before theyre shot.

You think thats wacky? I just pulled the bar risers off a Beta and it used a 7mm allen head. I was surprised to find I had one, which means I probably haven't used it in the last 25 years.

28mm fits a few things at least.

A lot of motorcycle forums slow down this time of year. Ive been snowmobiling for a month. Havent even started my bike since September. Motorcycles arent really on my radar right now.
