Top speed 14t front sprocket
« on: November 19, 2016, 05:46:34 AM »
I have a 16' 300 Sef-r factory, stock it is 13/48 gearing. I have no complaints about the stock gearing I'm #220lbs A class rider. I went with a 14t front for a race with lots of wide open field sections for more top speed. With stock gearing the computer said top speed 63mph with 14t sprocket top speed on computer was 72mph incase anyone was wondering.
I plan to leave this gearing on for awhile as I feel it helps me carry corner speed better. I also mostly keep it in 2nd and 3rd gear on tight trail and can go wide open and carry good speed on most straights in the woods in 2nd. With stock gearing I was shifting between 2nd 3rd and 4th sometimes. This little motor stuck to my buddies 300 2 stroke beta like glue even in the fields!

Holy crap! You guys had a field where you could go 72 mph? I guess being in Iowa you have more huge fields than we do in TN. The IN national enduro has some fields like that.

Oh yeah Clay this enduro had multiple fields like that and I was hitting 72 as fast as I could shift that little 300 haha I was laughing in my helmet when my AA buddy on his 300 2 stroke beta turned around and I was right on his tail lol, best feeling ever hahah. I was reeling him in, in the woods, the tighter it got the faster I gained!

That's funny!
Jeff and I were talking about the hare scramble from Sunday. There was one field where you could up to about maybe 45 mph but that was it. We both had stories about staying with guys who had more hp on us. The 300 fools a lot of people with its power.

I've got a 16 sef-r 300 factory on stock gearing (13/48) and I've had 73mph. Felt like there was some more to go too.

That motor hates you! It sat all night trembling.

4t 300 is 13/48, 2t 300 is 14/49 if I'm not mistaken.

Just wondering, does running a 14/48 take to much snap off the bottom end.i have a 2017 300 sef r. I could do with a bit more top speed but don't want to kill the bottom response to much.
