Now We Know 2017 Factory Editions.
« on: January 13, 2017, 07:55:45 AM »
I keeping getting emails and texts from guys asking for pics or info on the Factory Editions. I promise I don't have any information on those bikes yet. I also promise that as soon as I get it I will post it here. Bob may post it before I do because he's in EST.

2017 SHERCO FACTORY ENDURO
Four-stroke
250/300/450 SEF-R Factory
The four-stroke Factory models are unique. Matthew Phillips won the World Championship on a 300 SEF-R in 2016. The 2017 Factory replicas are extremely close to being the same bike as he rode including the graphics and components. The bikes include the new WP Xplor suspensions, an Akrapovic exhaust, a Pyramid saddle, anodized wheels... and of course the factory graphics kit, that is similar to the factory Sherco. Ride at the head of the pack with the Factory four-stroke models.
- Akrapovic exhaust system
- Special injection mapping
- New WP XPLOR fork, setting on the top (pre-load, compression, rebound)
- Full rear disc
- Pyramid, anti-slip saddle cover
- In Mold Factory Graphics
- Blue anodized wheels
Two-stroke
250/300 SE-R Factory
Exactly like the official Sherco Enduro team bikes that are ridden in the World Championship, the Factory models offer an original look and top-of-the-line components. Based on the 2017 Factory enduro models, the two-stroke Factory Replica is equipped with a number of upgrades including the new WP Xplor suspensions, a solid rear disc, a non-slip seat cover, FMF exhaust, blue anodized rims and a black anodized crown. The whole package is highlighted with a unique graphics kit that is identical to the graphics found on the factory motorcycles. These are full factory models.
- FMF exhaust system
- New WP XPLOR fork, setting on the top (pre-load, compression, rebound)
- Full rear disc
- Pyramid, anti-slip saddle cover
- In Mold Factory Graphics
- Blue anodized wheels

The xplorer is basically a replacement for the Open Cart WP's the AER replaces the Closed Cart WP's

Were any of those written by people who don't make a living tuning suspension? Serious question, I'm genuinely curious.

Bummer on the forks.  I was hoping for closed cartridge forks or AER.

Kreft was not at all impressed with the Xplor but Jimmy Lewis at Dirt Bike Test was pretty happy with them.  You also can't put the KYB cartridges in the Xplor forks either

I came on here to post the info on the 2017 FE's and saw that Drew had beaten me to the punch so I changed the name of the thread.
I called Sherco when I saw that they were using the Xplorer fork to get more info on it since it's new. Alex told me that the settings are different from the OB settings and that Fabien Planet had tested the fork for months and liked it. (Fabien was a Sherco rider until a couple of years ago. You may remember that he rode the TKO in 2013 I think it was and finished 5th or 6th. He's fast.) He promised to try to get more info on how this fork was different from the one on the OB. Also, Alex mentioned that the cc WP fork is no longer available from WP. I know that some of you were expecting the FE to have that fork but its not possible.
