Mitch Carvolth on a Sherco in Arizona
« on: January 07, 2018, 08:21:53 PM »
Multi-time AMRA Champ Mitch Carvolth was sighted on a 300SER-F at todayís GP in and around Arizona Cycle Park. The course was 1/4 MX track and 1/2 deep sand wash and 1/4 other stuff.

With all the horsepower-robbing sand, he found himself  up against 450 and 350 4Ts and 300 2Ts in the AA-Pro front line. Reaults arenít up yet. My reaults are I finished, didnít crash despite plenty of opportunities.

Race results are in. Mitch took 5th place behind Destry Abbottís son, Cooper Abbott.

Mitch was about 30-seconds behind the race leader over the six-mile course.

He liked the power of the 300F, but the 450s ruled the day on the sand wash which was probably 2+ miles of the course. He said SC300Fís suspension was on the soft side for him. He is 5í11Ē and 195 pounds.

Mitch still leads the series, and Cooper Abbott is not an AMRA regular.

I'm surprised that series is so small, even combining HS and enduro events, considering the land out there.

Mitch won the AMRA Championship with a 4th-Place finish in our final race (The Globe Prison-Break Sprint Enduro), in  between Destry Abbott and Cooper Abbott.

Mitch chose the 450 for this race. It wouldn't have been *my* choice in this tight and rocky course.

Ryan Wells won the race but came up three points short in the end-of-year standings.

In case anyone wonders, my 3rd-Place finish at Globed bumped me and my 2011 Gasser to a end-of-year 4th in 50B, despite some broken ribs back in October.

Rick,

Yes Mitch took 4th at Globe, which was all he needed to secure the AMRA championship. What most people don't know is that he rode the entire race without a clutch, as he crashed in the first test and broke his perch! Bike was running great and for a 450 the bike handles really well in the tight stuff!
