I wish they would hurry up so I can buy a Slavens idle thingamagig,
and a JD tuner to get it to run right, and fix the oil injection plastic container
from leaking. and re-prime the oil injection when I tip over.

I would go with a injected two stroke bike. Almost all snowmobiles are Semi DI or DI.

Or have the stock spark plug break up in the engine (see slavens video on the subject)

Except that Kyle missed the whole point of the video.  The stock plug was made for the stock bike and works but IF you change the compression is when there's an issue...

LOM your statement had me thinking that maybe I missed the point, I re-watched and I would disagree with you, Jeff Slaven's opening statements is "Action Alert; I hope you immediately to your bike otherwise you might suffer negative consequences.."

Jeff doesn't even mention compression until 1:46 in the video, and doesn't mention that the compression with respect to the KTM until 2:41

Jeff summarizes the video with "I suggest, whether your motor is stock or modified, to change to a standard tip plug, not the projected tip."

I haven't seen Kyle's response. But if Jeff says it, it is like gospel.  He should end all of his videos with "So Saith the Shepard!" So his "flock" can respond "So saith the sheep".

What do you do when two shepherds say totally different things?  ;)

Alex, guess I didn't finish watching Jeff's video.  I'd lean towards trusting Jeff because he has been a mechanic forever and lets face it, not getting rich selling spark plugs.  Either way, Kyle's getting into the same sales market as Jeff.  Guess the drama will help sell for both of them.

You go with what the well established professional mechanic says not the backyard mechanic vlogger  of course. If I want vlog advice i'll go to Kyle. I swear sometimes I shit in my hand and throw it at the screen on some of his video's.  Im no Slavens nut rider but he sure as hell knows a lot more then the youtuber. I think the OB guys are just getting but hurt over the whole subject of saying there is a fault with their bike.

I agree but Kyle brought up the amount of time, money, and research, engineers put into designs. This far exceeds Jeff's abilities in my opinion. I don't think Kyle knows better, but he knows enough to recognize the engineers who made the choice know more than either. Are you familiar with the Dunnin-Kruger Effect? I think Kyle falls into the first quarter, maybe half, and Jeff into the 3/4ish mark.

Alex , Don't you think if Kyle is anything more than an entertainer that he could have emailed Jeff on his experience and maybe he might learn something from someone who has worked with factory teams and has worked with his share of engineers. Instead he disrespects him. I have worked for a few manufacturers and I can assure you most products have a certain amount of compromises in their designs for many different reasons. Finances has a lot to do with it, and being the first manufacturer to be brave enough to bring FI into production is going to have its critics. Engineers have a lot different hats to wear to bring a product to the marketplace. Don't think for a minute they got where they did without knowledgeable people like Jeff. Kyle is making a logical comment and nothing more. Kyle is sharing his passion with others and it's entertaining and somewhat informative. Kudos to him for finding a way to finance his love for what we all have a passion in. If you would like some proof of what I speak, research Smokey Yunich he taught engineers more about automotive design than probably anyone. GM, Ford and engineers in Nascar to Indy. You will enjoy this man's journey and how clever he was.
