2019 Rallies on Sherco
« on: December 08, 2018, 05:35:12 PM »
So impressed with the new Sherco 500 and my build for 2019 Rally Racing year. I have the new 500 here in Australia and will be racing the new 450 in Europe & Africa in 2019
The 450 will be set up identical to my 500 SEF. I have not ridden the new 450 and am keen to get some feedback comparing it to the 500 power wise if anyone has ridden both.
First race is the Hispania Rally in Valencia March 4-9 and then the Tuareg Rally in Algeria March 16 - 23

Here are my 2019 events

HISPANIA  RALLY - SPAIN MARCH 4 - 9

TUAREG  RALLY - AFRICA MARCH 16 - 23

HELLAS RALLY - GREECE MAY 19 - 26

PAN AFRICA - MOROCCO SEPT 21 - 27

RALLY COAST 2 COAST - MEXICO NOV 2019

AFRICA ECO RACE - DAKAR JANUARY 1-13

That is quite the packed schedule! Are you shipping the 450 or 500 to MX for Coast to Coast? That one has been on my radar since I did baja rally in 2016. The Mexican rallies are really the only ones within my budget so I'm keen to hear your thoughts.

I'm not too sure yet for C2C, more than likely I might send the 500 there, my 450 will stay in Europe. I may try and find a Sherco in Mexico if at all possible?
My friend (Heran Samaniego) is the organiser of Rally C2C. He is from MEX but lives in Switzerland and also the owner of the rally team Im riding with over the next 2 years. He is a very professional operator. I rented a bike and service off him thjs year at Hellas Rally in Greece. I had a very serious accident on day 7 and was in a Greek hospital for a month before I could be evacuated back to Australia.  The assistance he has given my wife and I when the accident happened and also right up until now has been amazing, enough for me to join him for the next 2 years so he can prepare me for Dakar.
I agree it is a well priced Rally compared to the others, My wife and kids will be coming to C2C to have a bit of a holiday as well. It will be a great event. Im from a MX & enduro background so the whole Rally racing scene is new to me
Hope to see you there.
