Is the Sherco X-Ride 290 Still Being Made?
« on: January 05, 2020, 05:07:01 PM »
Hi all,

New to the forum, older fan of 2-strokes.

Is the Sherco X-Ride 290 Still Being Made?

If not, when was the last year new ones were sold?  I can't seem to find any info on this.

Also, while I can find (some) specs on it at bikez, but there's no spec for suspension travel here:
Sherco 290 X-Ride 2017
https://bikez.com/motorcycles/sherco_290_x-ride_2017.php

Has anyone ever heard of plans by Sherco to offer E-start on the X-Ride?  Or an aftermarket kit?  (I've read the kickstart lever is short, and that some find kicking it difficult.)

Much appreciated!

I answered your question here:

Thank you--your ownership experience only confirms every reason I'm interested in the bike.  I hope I can find one, possibly leftover, or lightly loved.   I want the bike, in significant part, for it's lighter, lower, shorter weight/dimensions, with a seat, a niche in which it has no direct competition (like you need me to tell you).

I will contact RYP soon, and go from there.

Thank you kindly.
