anybody has starting issues on 2020 300 se factory?
« on: January 05, 2020, 07:14:15 PM »
mine seems to never starts at first press of the button,
I need to press 2-3 times sometimes regardless hot or cold.
Soon will change gear oil at first service and see if that change anything.
I know it's winter and it has lithium battery but it shouldn't be like that I guess.

When cold the battery's need to be woken up ... takes a few hits of the button to get the battery to fire up and turn it over.
But once its fired and warmed up it doesnt miss a beat for the rest of the day :P

well, I tried that and it started indeed 5 times in a row at first button press, but bike was in neutral.
Interesting.

mine also doesn't start when in gear. i know for a fact the clutch sticks a bit since the outside clutch plate opens uneven.
i tried switching springs around (as was suggested elsewhere) to no avail...
on a cold engine it's very hard to get her started, once warm it starts first hit on the button (in neutral) all day long.

yeah, when it's relatively cold like this winter it takes a 4-5 tries, probably partially thanks to lithium battery.
Bike also shots from the pipe sometimes during cold start.  Anyway starter works completly different then my KTM exc
which always cranks even though it takes also few buttons pushes when cold.

YES .. once the battery has warmed up will start in gear without issue all day long,
The lithium batts Sherco use need a small load to warm up the cells first time starting of a morn.
Then it cranks fine under all conditions rest of the day ..
Hit button wait 15-20secs try again, then repeat if need be.
