300 ser rings
« on: July 09, 2020, 02:36:21 PM »
Looks like Sherco changed the part numbers for piston and rings between the 2014/15 and 2016 onwards 300 2t. In Oz, the 15 rings are nearly 4 times the cost of the 16 parts! The piston kits are also much more expensive for the 15. Has anyone used the later parts in their 15 model?
Aftermarket options?

G'day mate, not sure where you are ? i spoke to my Guru Anthony @ Proloine Motorcycles in Cranbourne Vic about my 300fi, & he said he has been using aftermarket pistons in all Sherco's for years without any issues.

Thanks for the tip. Anthony suggested Meteor kits, never heard of them but are Italian and seem to make top shelf kart pistons. The 14/15 pistons are forged and coated so could be worth a go.
The meteor catalogue confirms dimension differences between the 14/15 and later kit.
