Rear suspension play?
« on: July 27, 2020, 11:45:38 AM »
Anyone else notice on a new bike, that the rear linkage/Shock has some play in it.  If you put a wrench on the rear axle nut on a stand you can feel what i would describe as a 1/8th inch of play in the linkage etc. verified this one two bikes SEF 450 and 500 both about 100 miles ride time.

New to Sherco so working out what is or is not normal, and this does not seem normal to have any play in shock linkage/mounts

yes, noticed the same thing on my '20' 250 SE Factory when lifting to put bike on stand and wheel/swing arm is fully lowered/rear tire off ground....it's a slight play/clicking in the the lower linkage while hopping the back of bike up and down.

same here, would like to know if this is normal....

0n my 2015 SER250 I changed the parts with a new kit, but it has still a bit of play as kaw76. But on my son's 2017 SEF300 there is no play at all. I know not much of a help. I just keep an eye on my 2015!

I've just finished checking and greasing all my suspension bearings and with all of the bearings in good/new condition and packed with fresh grease there is about an 1/8" of vertical play at the end of the swing arm when it's on the stand. That's on my 2019 SE 250 factory.
