Power Valve - No Noise when ignition switched?
« on: October 20, 2020, 11:45:19 PM »
Hi,

I have a sherco se 250 2017.

Just recently, when i have switched the ignition on i cannot hear the valve turning. It used to make a noise when i switched ignition on.

Now, it is very quiet so not sure what has happened and if it will affect the bike? Bike starts fine...

Any suggestions much apprecated.

Regards

Hi!

I had a similar issue with -17 300 SE-R

I managed to destroy the exhaust port actuator motor when searching the fault.. let it be for a while. original motor is costy but can be replaced with motor from snowmobile (model I cannot remember at this stage)

At the end actuator motor controller #4073 was replaced and now going strong.

The bike was new to me so I cannot say exactly how it affects on the engine but it may depend on what postition the valve port is at the time. You can ride it but it might lack of torque on certain rpm's.

Of course all electrical connections should be checked. Mine got water in ite actuator motor plug and starded act crazy.
