2021 counterbalance retrofit
« on: December 15, 2020, 02:13:41 PM »
Just wondering if anyone has tech info about the new counter balance on the new models and if it is possible to retro fit it to earlier models

This is what Iíve seen on other pages canít confirm how true it is but builds an argument for further investigation

I wonder who the dealer is. Might be cool if Sherco sold a kit for this

Not sure how bad the 2019-2020s vibrate but I don' t think its worth the trouble.  The 2021 still vibrates.  If it was a butter smooth upgrade I could see the appeal, but not for what you get.

Agreed... my 2017 didn't feel like it was vibrating, and even my YZ250 didn't feel that bad. I guess some people just shouldn't ride two strokes

Hi everyone,

i am the guy from thumpertalk that made the conversion to SE300 2020. Not sure if it will fit earlier models, but i would defintely recommend it. Vibration werenīt really annoying to me, but conversion was cheap and it helps a lot. Felt it was a huge gain in tight sections and trials stuff like pure balancing without moving.

Funny, but I spoke directly to an engineer from the factory in regards to retrofitting, he stated that it would require a RH engine case to allow for clearance.
Might be some die-grinding involved.

Parts diag shows twin bearing where w/pump shaft is held in case on counterbalanced models, earlier have single bearing.
