2021 counter balanced 300 2T's
« on: January 17, 2021, 06:22:41 AM »
Hello, looking for feedback on the 2021 CB 2 stroke (300cc)motor and particularly how it compares to previous 300's.

Who can offer personal opinion comparisons????

I'm on a 2020 300 Factory.
Thanks

I have a 2021 250. I thought the counter balance weight looked small compared to other counter balanced motors (ktm, jap 4 strokes). It seems that is the biggest weigh/shaft they could put into the engine without a major engineering update. I'm not sure it 100% cancels out the vibration, but it definitely helps with it.

Motor is smoother than non balanced motors, but not quite as smooth as a tpi Austrian bike, IMO. But by no means does the vibration, if really any, bother me.

Can't speak for a before and after on a 300, my .02$

Just got my 2021 300 and was quite shocked by the vibrations through the pegs actually as I didn't expect any due to balancer.  My KTM is butter smooth.  However, on you actually put in gear in move it goes away.  I run MAKO mounts so my hands are pretty isolated.  Bike is so good that it exceeds the negative of still vibrating...albeit not too bad.  Sorry, no comparison to earlier but way better than a 2014 KTM I recently rode.

Can certainly tell the difference from one model to the other, no question.
The earlier Shercos weren't terrible before, the new ones are better again.
The lower first gear and reduced weight are more of a selling point than the fitment or lack of a balance shaft.
Great bike, love mine.
