L/h headlight hi/lo switch
« on: November 26, 2021, 04:14:40 AM »
Afternoon ,

I have a sherco sef 300 2021, o bought the bike new back in June, since then have done my mod1/2 and the bike is road registered, my question is has anybody come across a left hand switch that gives you hi/lo option other than just on/off, spoken to a few dealers here south Wales UK and nobody can seem to help me, my next stop is is to try and get a KTM/huski one to work? Anyone done this ?

You can take virtually any motorcycle headlight switch with low/high or off/low/high and easily adapt it to your headlight.

Basically you have common ground to the headlight bulb and then filament one and filament two you supply power too.

Here's a very simple drawing of how you wire it up.

Now, don't wire directly to the battery. Take the positive lead from the lighting system and use it as supply. This way the headlight will turn off when the bike isn't running preserving your battery.
