looking for info on the 2T enduros
« on: February 24, 2013, 12:35:56 PM »
The snow should be melting off the trails in the next month or so......meaning it's time for a new bike.   The Sherco 250/300 4T looks enticing, as do a couple of the 250/300 2T enduros on the market, but the Sherco 250/300 2T really has may attention.  I have seen no new info since the photos were released back in November.  Anybody seen one (pre-production) on the trails or heard an ETA?

I am heading to France on March 15th for a few days and I hope I will come back with more info. I have been told that production date is in May so we should have them in early June. They will be 2014 models and I have been told they will be priced about the same as other brands with the same components. In other words, they will not be as cheap as the Beta because the Beta has Sachs suspension. We can get the Shercos with Sachs but I only want the higher end suspension. I will post more here as I get it. You should look at a 300i Race though just to get an idea of how good the fit and finish is.

I eagerly await more info when you return.  I've always like Sherco since the first time I rode a 4.5i, they are well designed.  Truth is, the 300 Race is probably what I need.

I have been pleasantly surprised an the number of dealers who have called me to tell me how much they like the 300i Race. Dealers are busy and usually call to tell me when they have the problem, not to tell me how much they like a bike. It's been pretty cool.

Hey tm, I'd like to add to your post if you don't mind :)

As for more info on the 2T, do u know

1) how much does it weigh?
2) fuel tank capacity?
3) is it electric start?
4) 6 speed?

Thanks

Wheelie, Yes, it's e-start.  See this video to hear it start up.  No kickstart.

A quote from Clay over in the GG forum:  "The 2T 250 was pretty sweet. Electronic controlled pv, 6 speed, e start designed with the engine rather than added on. It had tons of torque."

Here is the link to the post (it's post #11):  http://www.gasgasrider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13460&highlight=sherco&page=2

Regarding the weight and fuel capacity, maybe Clay can chime in, but I think he won't have that info.  He may have more after his trip to France on Mar. 15.

In the meantime, here are two more vids of Fabien:

Well, i am sad, but am okay with the delay on this new model.  they are probably doing the new release and want minimal bugs, etc. and if it delays to have a better product than it should be worth the wait.

Clay, still get spy photos and as much info on the 2T as poss. thanks

bummer news regarding the delay.  better late and right, than on time and flawed.

Hopefully the delay is to replace the Keihin with a Smartcarb and add a backup kickstarter :)

The SmartCarb addition would be cool; love it on my Husky CR165.

I sure wish the production wasn't pushed back so far.  I had set my mind on the 300 2T for this spring.
