shifter Q
« on: September 14, 2015, 12:09:45 PM »
quite an extreme ride on Friday & bent the shifter.
Anyone know if one of the Hammerheads fits? 2014 SEF300 Factory

Also; it put a bit of a ding in the side - is there a cover / protector for these bikes?

getting the shifter off is a bit of a challenge.
Could not get my gear puller in there, had to use some heat.
The splines were covered in what looks like red Loctite.

At BFD we learned that the 2015 SEF300 shifter is not the same as on the 2014 SEF300 but that the 2014 SEF450 shifter is the same.
So put the new one on and bent the old one to more or less the right angle to keep as a spare (more heat).

Try Virus Racing for a carbon fibre cover http://boutique.virus-racing.fr/se-i/2592-protege-carter-d-allumage-4-temps.html. I recommend using Google Translate if you can't read French. Though I noticed you're from Canada, so that may not be a problem for you.

That looks just like mine (I call it a gear-puller) but there isn't room to get it on the shifter spline.
